Jesus Friend

Find your people, cherish your people and love your people!

Whew, it has been a 40+ year relationship with my beautiful friend Rene'

We have so many memories together that the struggle has been real in terms of settling on what to share with the world. So for today we are going to blend snow skiing and Jesus.

I love to snow ski and I owe it all to Rene’. While we were trying to navigate the world of junior high, she invited me to go on her church’s youth group retreat.

Now keep in mind at that age you’re doing anything you can to get out of the house, and so I said yes. I mean honestly who cares if I knew how to ski or not; and that Jesus stuff was just a bunch of stories. Right?

Well by the end of the trip I was able to navigate the “green” slopes decently, wind in my hair, the sound of the swish and the thrill of speeding down the run. I loved skiing.

And while all that is cool, what was really astonishing had more to do with my forever life. You see the seed of Salvation had been planted that weekend. It took a few more years to sprout and grow into a declaration of faith. And I am far far far from a perfect Christian, but I am one.

Thank you my dear friend for asking me to go with you on that trip.

Love you!
