Stranger, Friend and Family

A life without a few of those - unbelievable, not making this up and no really it happened - moments might be considered dull.
Today’s highlight is 100% one of those times. 2020 was the year of biological discovery. Lots of twists and turns were to be had during the journey, but one of my favorite moments is with Brian.
We are in the truck, on our way to one of the Grind’s epic meal experiences and just having one of those random conversations. At some point in the short drive from point A to point B, we mention making a trip to South Dakota. Brian inquires, why South Dakota and we explain it is where my family lives.
Our friend Brian perks up and shares he too has family with roots in South Dakota. We talk about what town / city area; and I make a flippant comment about how my biological origins are in this area. So he mentions a surname, I gasp, whip out my phone and show him my Ancestry DNA results.
So in the words of Paul Harvey...now for the rest of the story.
We learned that night through Science and Marriage we are very very very very distantly connected relatives. The winner winner chicken dinner in this story is me! I could listen to his life stories for hours as he is that kind of an amazing human.

BTW: Distance from point A to point B is approximately 1.5 miles.
